Frequently asked questions

How do the food and exercise estimates work?

When you enter a food or activity, Halera looks it up in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central database and/or asks an AI model for an estimate. Estimates are approximate — review and adjust them before saving.

Is Halera medical advice?

No. Halera is a personal wellness tracker for general information only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional for any medical concern.

How is my data stored and protected?

Your log is stored in our Microsoft Azure environment over encrypted connections and tied to your signed-in account. We don't sell your data or show ads. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is collected and what is never done with it, and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy covers health data specifically.

Does Halera work without a signal?

Yes. You can log food, weight, readings and everything else with no connection, and it syncs to your account once you are back online. The two things that do need a connection are AI estimates and barcode lookups, because both ask a server a question — everything else is local until it can sync.

Can I use Halera on more than one device?

Yes. Your log lives with your account rather than on the handset, so signing in on a second phone or a tablet brings everything with it. Two settings are deliberately per-device rather than per-account: which sections you have folded away, and whether analytics is switched on. Both are choices about that particular device, so they do not follow you around.

How do I turn off the trackers I don't want?

Profile & goals, then Track what matters to you. Untick anything you are not interested in and it disappears from the daily screen — fasting, activity, water, weight, blood pressure, mood, symptoms and sleep can all go. Food logging and the calorie and protein rings always stay, because without them there is no app. Nothing you have already logged is deleted by turning a tracker off; it is just hidden, and comes back if you turn it on again.

How do I stop Halera collecting analytics?

Profile & goals, at the bottom: Help improve Halera. Untick it and collection stops on that device immediately. Analytics never receives anything you log in the first place — no food, no readings, no profile details, not your name or email — only a small set of named events and a random identifier. The Privacy Policy lists them.

How do I change my password?

Profile & goals, then Reset password under your account email. That sends a reset link to the address on the account, which is the only way to change it — Halera never sees or stores your password in a form anyone could read, so there is no screen where it can simply be typed over. If the email does not arrive, check spam before writing in; the sender is the authentication provider rather than gethalera.com.

What happens if I stop paying for Halera Plus?

Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. The subscription only ever lifted the monthly cap on photo estimates, so when it lapses that cap comes back and everything else carries on exactly as before — every entry you have logged, every tracker, the fasting timer, barcode scanning, supplements and CSV export all stay. Cancellation is handled by whichever store you subscribed through, not inside Halera, because that is the only place with the authority to stop the billing — Apple and Google Play both document it.

Can I export my data?

Yes — from the app you can copy your log as a spreadsheet (CSV) for any date range, then paste it wherever you like.

Does Halera cost money?

Halera is free to download, and every tracker in it is free to use — nutrition, fasting, weight, blood pressure, hydration, sleep, mood and symptoms — with no ads and nothing sold on. Typed AI food and exercise estimates are unlimited on the free app too.

The one metered feature is photo estimates, where you snap a plate or a nutrition label and Halera reads the numbers off the picture. Those cost real money to run, so the free app includes 8 a month. If you want more, Halera Plus makes them unlimited for $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, and changes nothing else. You can subscribe from inside the app, and manage or cancel it through your Google Play or App Store subscriptions at any time.

Nothing you already track will ever move behind the subscription.
